Aventurine Physical Properties
Aventurine Quartz is actually quartzites (a rock, not a mineral) composed essentially of interlocking macrocrystalline quartz grains with disseminated grains of other colour imparting minerals. Depending on the nature of the inclusion aventurine occurs in a range of colours, green aventurine quartz has platy inclusions of green fuchsite mica; pyrite inclusions give a brown colour; a green-brown variety may be due to goethite.
