Apatite

Fluoroapatite crysta formationlCrystal Information - Products Below

Apatite Crystal Meaning
Apatite is said to enhance one's insight, learning abilities and creativity, and to give increased self-confidence. It also is said to help achieve deeper states of meditation. Using apatite is said to facilitate the desired results when working with other minerals.
Apatite Magical Use
Blue apatite may be used to aid in ridding oneself of guilt, grief, and excessive sensitivity to other people's problems. Blue apatite is also useful in ritual work designed to release pain and open oneself up to joy, peace and beauty. Also may be used to aid the immune system. Yellow-green apatite can be used in ritual work designed to rid oneself of negative self-image, feelings of inadequacy, shyness, or shame, and can be used to help one to accept and open themselves to love, comfort, and support. This stone is especially helpful in those who feel ugly or fat, as it helps to improve body image and release the feelings associated with this type of negativity.
Apatite Healing Use
Improve one's coordination and to strengthen muscles, and to help suppress hunger and ease hypertension.
Apatite Physical Properties
Twin Fluoroapatite CrystalApatite is the name given to a group of three related minerals the most common of which is fluorapatite(Ca5(PO4)3F), and more rarely clorapatite(Ca5(PO4)3Cl) and hydroxylapatite(Ca5(PO4)3OH). A complete solid solution series exists between these three with F, Cl and OH substituting for each other. Also, (CO3,OH) may substitute for (PO4) resulting in carbonate-apatite. Apatite forms as prismatic or tabular crystals, and in massive, compact and granular habits. Apatite (Ca5(PO4)3(F,Cl,OH)) is a common accessory mineral in many types of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The largest apatite deposits are associated with alkalic rocks. The phosphates in bones and teeth are members of the apatite group. It is usually green in colour, but may be white, colourless, yellow, bluish, reddish, brown, grey, or purple. It has a white streak and is transparent to translucent, and it has a vitreous to subresinous lustre. The color in apatite is often due to the presence of rare earth elements or by natural irradiation. Group PHOSPHATES, Composition (Ca5(PO4)3(F,Cl,OH), Hardeness 5.0, Crystal structure HEXAGONAL
