Physical Properties - Chalcopyrite can form as a rock in massive, or as tiny crystals occuring with fluorite and calcite. It has other names too, when it appears in larger multi coloured rock formations, it also called Bornite. It is often sold by its friendly name "Peacock Ore" too. Chalcopyrite - copper iron sulfide crystallises in the tetragonal system. It has the chemical composition CuFeS2. Hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale.
